Maintenance – Types B, C & F

Lining Inspection
Lining thickness can be checked visually through the observation vee slots from drive side. (For type C rim must be removed). If lining is less than half the new thickness shown in table, lining should be replaced.

Lining Replacement size 32-54
Remove motor or engine away from driven machine. Pry off old lining with screw driver. Clean OD of blocks and ID of rim with volatile solvent. Remove poly liner from new lining and place in position.

Lining Replacement size 55-300
Remove rim as shown, proceed as above.

Block and Spring Replacement size 32-54
Remove motor or engine away from driven machine. Remove cover plate and replace block and springs as a unit (mechanism).

Block and Spring Replacement size 55-300
Remove rim and drop out drive body. Pry off linings and undo radial screws giving access to all parts. When reassembling note particularly that hook spring mounts immediately inside of ring, while additional springs (if necessary for high idle) are inserted inside hook springs.

Rim Replacement size 32-54
Rim is part of driven body, replace complete driven housing.

Rim Replacement size 55-300
Should it be necessary to replace rim, driven flange and bushing must be removed from shaft. Bushing screws can be used as jack screws to push flange off bushing taper by using alternate threaded holes.
