Installation - Type PMH
Clutch Installation
Mount hub and secure on shaft leaving spacing between hub and flywheel, as shown in dimension table. If flexible element is not bolted in place, clamp element between clamp ring and flange with bead of element properly seated against clutch and tighten up bolts alternately and evenly (approx. ½ turn per screw) until metal to metal contact is felt upon bottoming of clamp ring. With the flexible element now compressed to its limitation, tighten each bolt alternately with a torque wrench to the specified torque in column “K” in table.
Slip bolt ring over hub. Bolt hub to clutch (For Model PMH160H2-213 an adapter ring is supplied, bolt ring to flywheel before installing clutch). Slide bolt ring over clutch until it rests against element. Install bolts through clamp ring and element, then thread into flywheel. Using a torque wrench, tighten screws alternately and evenly (approx. ½ turn per screw) until all screws are tightened to the torque specified in column “L” in table.

Shaft Alignment
Although the shaft may be perfectly aligned in installation, some parallel and angular misalignment usually develops in usage because of shifting of the driving and driven units. It is desirable to align the coupling as accurately as possible upon installation to minimize flexing from misalignment.
Check both parallel and angular alignment by mounting indicators on the rim of the clutch as shown in Fig. 1 and rotating the rim through 360°. For a good installation neither indicator reading should exceed the value M in table. Both alignments should be rechecked after any repositioning.
To Replace Flexible Element
Remove screws from bolt ring. Place ring on hub. Remove screws from hub, Drop out complete unit and change element by removing clamp ring screws. Install new element as shown under clutch installation.
