WARNING: Do Not Run Clutch With Rim Removed.

Installation – Type B & C

Size 32, 41, and 54 are installed completely assembled. Check parallel alignment by inserting feelers between drive body lug and rim. Check angular misalignment by lining up back of drive body with face of rim. Shafts can protrude through tapered bushings if so desired.

Size 55-300

  1. Disassemble rim from driven flange and drive body from drive flange (or flywheel plate Type C.)
  2. Mount the drive flange and bushing on power unit shaft with the shaft end flush with the bushing end. Slide rim, driven flange and bushing on driven shaft with the shaft end flush with bushing end. (The Type C drive flange and bushing is replaced by the flywheel plate).
Note: Bushing and flange have double drilling. Bushing bolts should be inserted through holes into threaded holes in flange. Clearance for removing bolt is not available for use as jack screws. If unit has been installed with improper clearance use 3 set screws in tapped holes of bushing as jack screws.
N.B. Type A Drive Body and Mechanism cannot be removed. Shaft spacing should be 1/8” to ¼”.
  3. Bring motor and driven machine together using spacing dimension shown in table for clutch size involved. Tighten up bushing bolts evenly with torque shown in table. Check runout of drive and driven flange with indicator on side of flange near OD and make corrections if required by tightening appropriate bushing bolt.
  4. Check for angular and lateral misalignment as illustrated. Remember that a closer alignment will cause less wear.
  5. Remount drive body and mechanism using vee slots for screw and wrench clearance.
  6. Remount rim. Wrench torque not to exceed torque in table. Shafts can protrude through tapered bushings, but drop out feature will be lost.
